Terms and Conditions – TermNet Business GmbH & International Network for Terminology (TermNet)

These are the Terms & Conditions that apply to TermNet course and summer school participants, conference registrants, attendees and speakers.

Payments:

You may pay immediately upon registration via the TermNet Webshop by PayPal, direct bank transfer (wire money transfer), credit card or choose to pay by invoice. If you choose to pay by invoice, you will receive an invoice in a separate email on the day you register. You may then pay by purchase order and wire money transfer. 

Early Bird Rate:

In order to qualify for early bird rates or other promotional discounts, payment must be received by the deadline date. TermNet members always get a 20% member discount, they need to register with a special code they will receive upon request via e-mail to termnet@termnet.org.

Cancellation/Substitution Policy – Virtual Events:

Virtual event fees are non-refundable.

You may send a substitute to attend in your place or transfer your registration to another TermNet event at any time with no penalty.  Please notify us as soon as possible.

You will receive the recordings after the virtual event is held.

Cancellation/Substitution Policy – In-Person Events:

You have the right to withdraw from your registration within 14 days without giving a reason. Please refer to TermNet’s Cancellation / Withdrawal policy.

After the end of the withdrawal period, in-person event fees are non-refundable.

You may send a substitute to attend in your place or transfer your registration to another TermNet event at any time with no penalty.  Please notify us as soon as possible.

Program Changes:

TermNet reserves the right to make changes in programs, speakers, or venues or to cancel or postpone programs if enrollment criteria are not met or when conditions beyond its control prevail. Every effort will be made to contact each enrollee if a program is canceled. If a program is not held for any reason, TermNet’s liability is limited to providing a credit memo of the equivalent value of the registration fee paid.

If TermNet postpones or reschedules an event, your registration will automatically roll over to the new date. If an event is canceled for any reason, a credit memo will be immediately issued to use up to 12 months after the notification of event cancellation to attend another TermNet program of the registrant’s choice. The credit memo is transferrable to a colleague and may be used for any TermNet event.

Speakers and trainers:

Views expressed by speakers and trainers are their own. TermNet cannot accept liability for advice given or views expressed, by any speaker or trainer at a conference, course or summer school, or in any material provided to attendees. TermNet may use the speaker’s name and presentation materials for promoting attendance at the TermNet event. TermNet may use audio and/or video of the speaker’s session and the recording may be sold as part of the overall conference or training materials. TermNet may reproduce copies of the speaker’s presentation on paper and/or electronically and these may be sold as part of the overall hand-out materials during the conference, course or summer school, and after the event. Speakers who do not wish to give permission for the above terms and conditions should notify TermNet during the planning of the conference, course or summer chool.

Data Protection: 

TermNet is headquartered in Austria, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Please refer to Privacy Policy: https://termnet.eu/privacy-policy.

Photographs, Publicity Material, Video, Print Media:

TermNet reserves the right to use any photographs, recordings, electronic images, or other publicity material obtained in the course of the event. TermNet has the right to include photos and videos of Attendees, Speakers, and Sponsors for marketing and publicity without compensation.

Participants of TermNet Summer Schools agree that their data from the registration form (first name, last name, organization, e-mail address, etc.) will be added to TermNet’s mailing list provided by KlickTipp, and the fotos taken from them during the summer school can be stored and processed by TermNet and the TermNet Business GmbH in compliance with the GDPR Privacy Policy of these two organizations: www.termnet.org/english/legal_notice/privacy-policy.php and www.termnet-gmbh.at/datenschutzerklärung/, https://termnet.eu/privacy-policy

Visa Requirements / Invitation Letter: 

It is the attendee’s sole responsibility to take care of visa requirements.  TermNet will not contact embassies and consulates on your behalf. To receive an invitation letter for a conference or summer school, you must first register and pay the registration fees in full.
