2 Days TSS 2023 means utmost flexibility: You do not need to choose your days now – just register and choose which days you want to attend by July 10.
Day 1 (starting at 13:00 CEST) is all about Terminology as a Science: Terminology Theories, Scientific Research and Projects at Naples Universities will be presented, as well as Academic Training and the role of Terminology in Microlearning.
Day 2 is dedicated to TERMINOLOGY METHODS, QUALITY AND STANDARDS: In the morning, we will get an overview of terminology activities in Italy, will learn about frame-based terminology, and how to deal with copyright issues in terminology management. In the afternoon, two workshops will deal with statistical terminology and with international terminology standards.
Day 3 is about TERMINOLOGY, TRANSLATION AND TECHNOLOGY: We will discuss professional terminology work an management in organizations and in the industry, and show you how to argue and calculate costs and return on investment for terminology work. In the afternoon, two workshops will tackle terminology resources in the European Union, and how to share and manage terminology within open European platforms.
Day 4 is dedicated to TERMINOLOGY MANAGEMENT AND TRANSLATION: We will focus on terminology for translation purposes and professional communication. We will show you how to search and collect terminology, how to coin terms, and how the European Union coordinates terminology. The afternoon workshops are about multilingual terminology management, and about Linguistic Linked Open Data (LLOD).
Day 5 is the highlight of TSS 2023: After an introduction of the ECQA Certificate, the European Driving Licence for Terminology Professionals, a representative of the etranslation Program of the Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) will enlighten us about EU terminology and translation strategies. Then, your colleagues and peers from all over the world will present their own terminology projects. The presentations also count as oral exam, if you intend to qualify as ECQA Certified Terminology Manager.
